HISTORY

till 2007

At the beginning beginning

Prior to founding HGHI, Harald Gerome Huth has realised numerous real estate projects in Berlin, including the Gropius Passagen in Neukölln and Das Schloss in Steglitz.

2007-2011

Foundation of HGHI

On 14 November 2007, the HGHI started with one employee. Our first projects included the Sankt Annen Gallery in Brandenburg, the Meiniger Hotel at Berlin's main railway station, a medical centre in Steglitz Schlossstrasse, the Zehlendorfer Welle in Zehlendorf and the two local supply centres Grunewald and Schlachtensee.

2012-2014

Mall of Berlin

In 2012, the launch of our biggest project to date, the Mall of Berlin, took place. The shopping and experience complex was opened in 2014 on the former site of Wertheim department store. The project covers 76.000 sqm of retail space, 12.000 sqm of hotel space and 30.000 sqm of living space. With appr. 300 shops and Germany's largest food court, the Mall of Berlin attracts over 20 million visitors from germany and abroad every year.

2015

Schultheiss Quartier

With around 100 employees, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of the Schultheiss Quartier on the former area of the Schultheiss Brewery in Berlin-Mitte. By summer 2018, a shopping and experience complex with a diverse mix of fashion, retail and gastronomy will be built at this location. In addition to 30.000 sqm of sales space with around 100 shops, 15.000 sqm of ultra-modern office space is being built, almost half of it in the charming, listed old building. We have also rebuilt and opened the Wannseeterrassen restaurant.

2016

Tegel Quartier

The Tegel Center, which was built in the 1970s, the former Hertie House and the Gorkistraße are being renovated on a grand scale. The extensive renovation and modernisation of the area means a significant increase in attractiveness for the entire district. The expansion of the existing retail space with a varied mix of fashion, gastronomy, electronics and services also contributes to this. With the opening in 2019 not only those who shop there, but also the entire retail location of Tegel will benefit.

2017

New corporate headquarters

Moving of the HGHII: We settled into our headquarters in the historic Mendelssohn-Palais at the Berlin Gendarmenmarkt. From here, in addition to the Tegel-Center and Schultheiss Quartier, we also plan and develop the projects Mariendorfer Damm, S-Bahnhof Tiergarten / Straße des 17. Juni, Potsdamer Straße and Kranoldplatz.

2018

Schultheiss Quartier: Grand Opening

In summer 2018, we will open the Schultheiss Quartier on the historic site of the former Schultheiss brewery. Visitors are offered a diverse mix of fashion, trade and gastronomy. In addition to 30,000 sqm of sales space with around 100 shops, 15.000 sqm of ultra-modern office space is being built, almost half of it in the charming, listed historic building.
