MISTER SPEX Opens Store at Mall of Berlin

Berlin, 10.2.2020

Europe's leading online optician Mister Spex opens a new 120 square meter store in the Mall of Berlin in Berlin-Mitte. The opening is scheduled for mid-March 2020.

On the ground floor of the Mall of Berlin, the Berlin-based company will present its customers with a varied selection of hundreds of eyewear and sunglasses models, while at the same time giving them access to the entire online range of several thousand frames from various brands. In addition to personalized expert advice, Mister Spex customers will also benefit from a wide range of free services such as vision tests and eyewear adjustments. Mister Spex currently operates 18 of its own stationary stores in Germany. In addition, Mister Spex works with over 500 partner opticians who also offer online customers on-site services.

"We are looking forward to our new store in the Mall of Berlin", says Jens Peter Klatt, Vice President Multichannel at Mister Spex. "Berlin has a special significance for us in our Omnichannel success story, as we opened the first Mister Spex store here four years ago. With the Mall of Berlin, our new store has an ideal location in the capital thanks to its central location, which appeals to visitors and residents of Berlin alike".

"The classic retail business is increasingly moving towards the omnichannel. In order to be successful in the retail sector in the long term, companies have to be present on various channels. Our new innovative tenant Mister Spex stands for the perfect interlocking of the offline and online worlds," says Harald Gerome Huth, owner and managing director of HGHI Holding GmbH.

In the immediate vicinity of world-famous sights such as the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and Holocaust Memorial, the Mall of Berlin offers a unique urban mix of shopping, gastronomy, hotel, entertainment, office and residential. The shopping and experience center, which opened in 2014 on the former site of the Wertheim department store, comprises a total of approximately 76,000 square meters of retail space, approximately 12,000 square meters of hotel space and approximately 30,000 square meters of living space. With over 300 shops, one of the largest food courts in Germany and an extensive program of events, the Mall of Berlin attracts around 22 million visitors from Germany and abroad every year.

The Mall of Berlin is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
